Texas State Technical College Telecommunications

The Texas State Technical College (TSTC) Telecommunications/Fiber Optics Cabling program prepares students for entry-level, high-tech jobs that build, modify and maintain information networks. Now is the best time to get in on a ground floor opportunity and be part of the information age. The Telecommunications Technology Cabling program provides basic training in voice, data and video communications that use copper/fiber cabling. As a student, you'll acquire a solid foundation in the skills and knowledge necessary to enter directly into the job market and post-secondary educational institutions.


The Telecommunications / Fiber Optics program consists of the following courses:

  • Introduction to Telecommunications (CSIR 1003) 96 hours
  • Introduction to Fiber Optics (LOTT 1001) 96 hours
  • Telecommunications Integrated Systems (CSIR 1002)
