BIT

The goal of the Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) is to aid in developing support plans to encourage student health, well being, and academic success by an active process of threat assessment and behavioral intervention.

The BIT's purpose is to provide a systematic response to students (and employees) whose behavior is perceived as a threat to themselves or others in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the students and members of the college community.

The BIT is comprised of college employees (College Police, Student Life and Engagement, Housing, Counseling, Faculty and Staff Members, Chief of Safety, etc.) and it is Chaired by the Director of Community Standards. Any member of the college community who has reason to believe that a student may pose a direct threat to him/herself or others may report the concern by completing the Incident Report Form found on the left hand side of this page, by contacting the Director of Community Standards, College Police, the Vice President of Student Development, or any BIT Member.

Employee BIT concerns should be referred to the Executive Director of Human Resources, Mary Prepejchal located in the Service Support Center (956.364.4042).
