The Business Management Technology department at TSTC Harlingen is your key to developing a career in Office Management and Operations Management.
The BMT curriculum offers an Associates of Applied Science degree in Office Management, a Level 1 Certificate of Completion in Office Management. BMT also offers an Associates of Applied Science degree in Operations Management, in addition to a Level 1 Certificate of Completion in Operations Management.
The Business Management Technology program recognizes the importance of having basic business core principles at the heart of its curriculum. Therefore, both of our degrees have integrated a foundational set of business courses within the curriculum. BMT students successfully completing an Associates of Applied Science degree in Office Management or Operations Management can transfer a block of transferrable 21 course credits in the Field of Business to any Texas public college or university.
Obtaining either the degrees or certificates from the program provides a good foundation for individuals who wish to continue their education and those who are aspiring to obtain higher paying jobs. Many individuals enroll in the BMT program not only to learn new skills, but also upgrade their present knowledge and skills for advancement in their current occupations.

The courses offered through the Business Management Technology program are the essential core of any career geared towards administrative and office managerial duties. Our curriculum is designed to equip graduates with the skills, knowledge, and understanding which are necessary to succeed and excel in today’s modern office occupations. Students learn to assume responsibility, work independently, and to develop and use critical thinking to carry out administrative office procedures while providing managerial support accurately, efficiently, and professionally.
Our curriculum courses are also designed to educate individuals in the technical and managerial aspects of operations for manufacturing and service industries. Graduates can use their education for advancement with their current employer or simply to upgrade skills to open doors to management level positions.
Graduates from this program of study will have basic coursework and hands-on training to prepare for entry-level positions as supervisors in areas such as inventory control, warehousing, logistics and operations management.
