Fines and Fees
A charge of $0.10 will be assessed for each overdue item, $1.00 for each special collection item, each day the library is open, calculated from the due date. The maximum fine will equal the replacement cost of the item, plus a processing fee of $5. Fines will accumulate until the material is returned.
At the end of each month an overdue notice outlining the materials borrowed and the accumulated fines will be sent out. Students will be barred from borrowing additional library materials and a block will be placed on the patron’s account limiting access to their school records, and suspending library privileges. If the material is not returned a second notice will be sent the following month, along with an email to the patrons g-mail account. If needed a third and final notice will be sent on the third month with a notice the account will be sent to collections if the material is not returned and the fines are paid.
Faculty and staff with overdue material will be sent an email to remind them to renew or return materials, and they are subject to the fines and fees listed above for overdue materials.
Fines are assessed to a patron and a patron’s privileges blocked to encourage the return of overdue material. Fees may be paid in cash at the LRC, or at the Business Office. A receipt marked “Library Fines” must be presented at the LRC for the block to be lifted from the patron’s account.
