Medical Information Specialist/Transcriptionist students are trained for various positions including, but not limited to, the following: assembly clerk, analysis clerk, file clerk, release of information clerk, processing specialist, unit secretary, medical receptionist, billing specialist, appointments scheduler, medical transcriptionist assistant, and medical transcriptionist.

Graduates of this program are prepared to work in a variety of facilities, such as hospitals, clinics, physicians offices, managed care organizations, long term care facilities, behavioral health facilities, ambulatory care facilities, and rehabilitation centers.

Graduates of the program may earn between $18,000 - $25,000 per year in the Valley and $20,000 - $26,500 out of the Valley.
