Introducing Competency-Based Learning
What is competency-based learning?
Transitioning away from seat time, TSTC has developed this new competency-based learning certificate with the help of the Texas manufacturing industry, matching learning activities with industry-validated competencies. Instead of following a semester schedule, a student moves through this program as they master the new skills and are confident to succeed in today's workplace.
Traditionally this is a two-semester program, but a student with applicable experience can accelerate through the program in less time saving both time and money.
Great opportunity for busy, experienced professionals wanting to gain relevant competencies to help advance their career, unemployed citizens, military veterans or individuals with job skills in manufacturing, electronics or fluid power systems.
Financial assistance is available to students who qualify. For more information contact the Financial Aid Office by calling 956-364-4330.
