The purpose of TSTC Harlingen’s Online Learning Office is to promote quality online learning experiences by providing support to the college’s online learning students and faculty. This mission is consistent with the college’s Instructional Master Plan goal of providing quality learning experiences through the support of online learning activities and with the Strategic Plan Goal of providing quality learning experiences. Support, primarily provided through group and individualized training, technological assistance, and useful resources, allows for the delivery of effective online learning course using web-based technologies.
The Online Learning Office works closely with the Online Learning Advisory Committee, Online Learning Faculty, Curriculum Office, and Student Development Departments to ensure that courses and services provided to online students are comparable to those provided to face-to-face students.
Assessment of the Online Learning Office and online learning courses is conducted through end-of-course surveys, student satisfaction surveys, and training satisfaction surveys.
