Online Learning Moodle Sessions

Moodle Basic

Come to this hands-on session to learn how to use some of the most common features of Moodle. Learn how to: access your courses in Moodle, navigate the Moodle interface, create class announcements, upload course resources, create basic assignments, and discussion forums. A brief introduction to quiz creation and the Moodle Gradebook will also be provided.

For Support Staff

This session will explain common tools instructors are currently using in their courses and address issues students may have encountered within their courses. Learn how to: navigate the Moodle interface, address issues students commonly face when using Moodle for their coursework, keep computers up-to-date so that content in Moodle (videos, quizzes, etc) can be accessed and resolve common Moodle issues students have.

Moodle Advanced

Topics: Rubrics, Checklists, & Marking Guides, Oh my!!!
Do you currently have assignments or discussion forums in your course and are looking for a more efficient and consistent grading method? Moodle tools such as rubrics, checklists, or marking guides may be just what you are looking for. Come to this session to learn about differences between these grading methods and how you can apply them in your course. Examples of how TSTC instructors are using them will be provided.

Activity and Course Completion Tracking
Tracking student activity in your course can indicate the course resources students are using, ensure that students complete activities in a certain order, and provide a way for students and instructors to track student progress and participation.  Come find out how to set this up in your course using Moodle Completion Tracking. 

Gradebook set-up and organization Open Lab
This session will consist of a short Moodle gradebook intro followed by a hands-on/ Q&A session on the set up and organization of your Moodle gradebook. Come ready to get yours set up for the spring semester.

Backing-up & Restoring your Moodle course content

Ready to move all or some of your content into your spring 2014 Moodle course shell? Come to this session prepared to learn how to back-up and restore your course content into an empty course shell and how you can merge content into a course with content in it.

What is the Intelligent Learning Platform (ILP) and why is it in my Moodle course?

Wondering what the ILP Integration block in your Moodle course is and what you can do in it? Come to this session to find out how you can use it to submit your mid-term and final grades and track attendance. *Note, if you use Meta courses, usage of the ILP functions will be limited*
