Homeland Security Provides Ambassadors For Cyber Security
Randy Haley, IT Studies Division Director reports that the Department of Homeland Security has created a DHS Cybersecurity Workforce Outreach Program. This programís mission has the lead within the Federal Government to secure federal civilian executive branch information and communication systems.
DHS has created the Ambassadors for Cybersecurity Education (ACE) Program which identifies highly-motivated, highly-qualified DHS cybersecurity employees to serve as dedicated Ambassadors to academic institutions. Ambassadors are direct channels through which faculty, staff, and students can contact DHS, and they can provide a variety of support such as augmenting a schoolís cybersecurity curriculum, sharing information about DHS career opportunities at career fairs and responding to DHS career questions from faculty, staff and students.
