Longview Businessman Named to TSTC Board of Regents
Longview businessman Keith Honey has been named to the Texas State Technical College System Board of Regents by Gov. Rick Perry.
“I see tremendous opportunity in terms of workforce placement for Texans through the TSTC system,” said Honey, external affairs manager of AEP Southwestern Electric Power Company.
As a Board of Regents member, Honey will serve with eight others to help oversee the four-college system with schools in Marshall, Harlingen, Waco and West Texas, which has campuses in Abilene, Breckenridge, Brownwood and Sweetwater.
He is the immediate past president of the Longview Economic Development Corp., and is expected to be appointed as the chairman for Longview’s 25-member Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee when the City Council meets Thursday.
In addition to Honey, Perry also appointed Austin-based attorney Ivan Andarza and Dallas-based business owner Ellis Skinner II to the board. Honey, Andarza and Skinner are expected to serve until their terms expire at the end of August 2019.
