Gov. Perry Appoints Two to TSTC Board of Regents

Gov. Rick Perry has announced the appointment of two business leaders to the Texas State Technical College System Board of Regents to replace Connie de la Garza and Jerilyn K. Pfeifer whose terms have expired.  Cesar Maldonado and Gene Seaman will serve on the TSTC Board of Regents through Aug. 31, 2013.   The Governor also honored Mike Northcutt with a reappointment to the Board.
 
TSTC Marshall & West Texas among Top 20 Community Colleges in Nation

Five Texas colleges make the Top 30 Community Colleges list published by Washington Monthly magazine -- two of these are colleges within the Texas State Technical College System -- TSTC Marshall and TSTC West Texas.

TSTC Marshall came in at No. 11 and TSTC West Texas was No. 20 on the list.

TSTC ranks again in Community College Week

TSTC colleges are once again among the top colleges in the nation to confer associate degrees. The 2007 Community College Week ranks TSTC tops in precision production, and associate degrees in all disciplines for Hispanic graduates. TSTC can also boast the number one college in associate degrees conferred in engineering-related technologies/technicians and computer and information sciences & Support services (Community College Week, 2007).
 
50,000th I-CAR Point Awarded to TSTC Waco Graduate

The I-CAR Industry Training Alliance awarded its 50,000th I-CAR point to a student at a career and technical school or college. Kyle Palmer, a graduate of Texas State Technical College Waco and employee of Leo Martin Chevrolet in Lake Jackson, was the recipient of the 50,000th point.
 
$5 million National Science Foundation Grant Awarded
