What is New Student Orientation?

New Student Orientation (NSO) is required for all incoming students. Students will learn about Texas State Technical College, classes and so much more. It is an opportunity to explore academics, campus life, and begin developing important relationships with faculty, staff and students. There are also opportunities to have all of your questions answered.

How can I register for New Student Orientation?

For students enrolling in Summer 2017 orientation will be held Thursday, May 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dates for students beginning classes in Fall 2017 will be posted at a later date.

At Orientation you will:

  • Learn how to use the TSTC Portal and student e-mail
  • Explore student life and find out ways to get involved
  • Meet with a representative from your program
  • Discover all that the student services have to offer

Why attend New Student Orientation?

Orientation is a required program for all incoming students. It helps prepare you for the transition into college life, provides important registration and financial aid information and creates opportunities to engage with current students as well as taking a tour of the campus.

 Every new student will need to complete an orientation.


What should I expect from New Student Orientation?

 The day includes a campus tour, meeting with program chairs, presentations by Financial Aid, Student Records, Student Life and much more.


What should I wear to Orientation?

 Dress comfortably. Plan to wear casual clothes and comfortable shoes for walking around campus.
