Our Next Steps with SACSCOC
Accreditation with SACSCOC is a dynamic process that never truly or completely ends. Regarding the merger for single accreditation, the approval by SACSCOC of our Prospectus was just step one. The next step is the submission of a Compliance Report, due before December, that demonstrates how Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is complying with about 40 of the SACSCOC Comprehensive Standards as one college under single accreditation. This report will be followed by a SACSCOC site visit during the last week of January, 2016. So, the work on SACSCOC single accreditation is not over, in fact, you could say that we are still in the middle of it. Additional details will be communicated about the site visit as information becomes available.
As we move forward, revised Statewide Operating Standards are being loaded onto the new website at http://www.tstc.edu/governance/sos. This site will be updated frequently until all new or revised policies, procedures and standards have been posted. Areas from around the college have also answered frequently asked questions on single accreditation and you can find those answers at http://www.tstc.edu/about/faq.
Dr. Gary Hendricks and the Institutional Effectiveness team (Dr. Terry Conroy in Waco, Trish Haigood in Sweetwater and Dr. Celina Garza in Harlingen) are leading the college’s efforts to submit all required documentation.
