Administrative Professionals: making the impossible, possible.
As an office professional, you can be a key team member for most any business including banks, insurance companies, accounting firms, educational institutions, hospitals and medical offices, law offices, telecommunication companies, government offices, manufacturing companies, IT firms and many others. There will always be a need for these important team members, which is why executive secretaries and administrative assistants are featured on the Texas Workforce Commission’s list of the Top 50 Hot Jobs in Texas.
You can earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Professional Office Technology in about five semesters. The technology will help you master office productivity software to create spreadsheets, compose business correspondence, manage databases and develop presentations and reports; to effectively demonstrate knowledge of professionalism in all aspects of the workforce community, including strong work ethics, professional attitudes, values and skills; and to develop your keyboarding, telecommunication tools, records management, travel, and accounting principles. You will even be trained in basic accounting theory, computerized accounting, business and office management skills, human resource management, customer service, record keeping skills and interpersonal skills.
