Are you fascinated with things that fly? Do the power and speed of airplanes make your heart race? Do you enjoy working with your hands? If you want a career that gives you the responsibility to make sure passengers are safe in the skies; if you desire a career that combines mechanical skills with diagnosing problems with high-tech diagnostic equipment, and if you want a future with excellent pay and benefits (such as flight benefits), then take a look at the TSTC West Texas Aviation Maintenance Program.

Jet engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and composite structures – that's what our graduate aircraft mechanics work on after they complete the Aviation Maintenance Program here at TSTC West Texas. To get ready for your new career, you'll learn about the operation and overhaul of engines and mechanical systems used by airlines. You'll find that attending classes and labs is very convenient – just step out of the classroom and directly into the hangar for your hands-on training with airframes and engines similar to the ones you'll work on with companies such as American Eagle, Southwest Airlines, and B.F. Goodrich.

Depending on your choice to pursue an associate's degree or a certificate of completion, you'll take courses such as:

  • Turbine Engine Overhaul

  • Aircraft Composites

  • Basic Electrical Theory

  • Aircraft Welding

  • Aircraft Hydraulics and Pneumatics

At TSTC West Texas, you'll gain the experience required to make you eligible to take the FAA Airmen Certification Exam. Industry wants you to have two certifications that encompass knowledge of the entire airplane:

  • Airframe

  • Powerplant

You'll find that earning these certifications means better job opportunities, a higher salary, and more independence in the workplace. Our instructors have over 55 years of combined in-field experience so you know that you'll benefit from their industry expertise in preparing for certification exams and success in the workplace.

Consider Aviation Maintenance if your ambition is to have a career where you work on complex aircraft systems, structures, and powerplants. Enroll in the TSTC West Texas Aviation Maintenance Program to gain the skills, knowledge, and professionalism you'll need for a rewarding and high-flying career.
