Online Learning refers to classes in which the instructor and the student are in separate locations. Instruction does not take place in a physical classroom but instead occurs through the Texas State Technical College’s learning management system (Moodle). Online courses still meet the same learning outcomes as their counterpart face-to-face courses and are just as rigorous. Your online course may include videos, animations, proctored testing, synchronous or asynchronous online meetings or face-to-face meetings, so it is important for you to check your online course syllabus for requirements and details.
All Texas State Technical College online courses must utilize processes that verify your identity as a student enrolled in our online courses. These processes include the use of a secure login and password to access online courses hosted on our Moodle Learning Management System and the use of proctored exams in some online courses.
There are no additional charges associated with TSTC's online learning courses unless you choose to take proctored exams at a location that charges for services.
Online courses can provide you a flexible, convenient way to earn college credit. Courses still have deadlines but you can complete coursework when it is convenient for you. Some of the most common reasons for choosing online courses include:
If one of these reasons or any others are keeping you from completing your coursework and you are a motivated and organized individual, online courses may be a good option for you.
