Auto technician could turn instructor
Automotive Technology made such an impression on Tony Garcia that he might return to campus as an instructor some day.
He graduated in April 2008 at the top of his class, earned a spot on the Dean’s List, got inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society and received a Certificate of Excellence from the program. “I plan to continue my education in the automotive field; I am working toward my ASE certification and my ASE Master Certification. Eventually, I would like to be an instructor so I can help others achieve success just like TSTC helped me,” he said.
Martinez explained that the faculty encouraged him to think critically, find the source of problems and make efficient repairs.
“The instructors pushed me and challenged me to increase my capabilities,” he said. “I continue to use the same work ethic to succeed as vehicle technician at the Goodyear proving ground near San Angelo.”
