TSTC grad aids space programs
Immigration from China in 2000 started Li Liu on an education journey that led to her position as a software engineer for United Space Alliance in Houston. She and her colleagues develop systems and tools for flight controllers at the Johnson Space Center to support space shuttle flights and the International Space Station.
“I chose TSTC because it offered affordable tuition and the fast-track degree program with only two years until graduation. Computer Science Technology was a good match for me because I love the logical thinking behind solving math problems. I gained confidence dealing with the new challenges,” she said.
Liu then earned a bachelor degree in mathematics-computer science at McMurry University in Abilene and a master degree in Computer Science from Texas Tech University.
“I would take every opportunity to ask Holle England and Connie Shafer all kinds of questions and I always got prompt responses,” she recalled. “Their professional work ethics and sincere care for the students impressed and encouraged me.”
