Injury led to TSTC and drafting career
A job-related injury left Bryce Hanson unemployed, but Associate of Applied Science degree in Drafting & Design Technology from TSTC West Texas in 2008 launched him into a new career.
Today, he is a database team manager working on B-1 bombers for Rockwell Collins and he is a quality control manager, drafter and designer for Smith Pipe in Abilene. He earned membership in the Phi Theta Kappa honor society and the National Honor Society at TSTC.
“Between my good friend “JP” Barrandy and instructor Johnny Almagura, it was a blast to earn the degree,” Hanson said. “Mr. Almagura gave us a lot of hands-on experience from surveying to architecture.” He also thanked his wife and instructors Sharon Bagsby, Jerry Hayes and Diane Wagner.
“A TSTC instructor once told me that he would put up a two-year technical degree against any four-year degree,” Hanson concluded. “I am proof positive that TSTC works.”
