HIT grad recalls commencement speech
Michael A. Martinez recalls many moments from his college education, especially his speech during commencement.
“I was honored to share reaching my goal with so many people,” he said. “I hope every student in attendance felt the excitement as well for reaching their own goals.”
The Health Information Technology major works as a registered health information technician and outpatient admissions analyzer at Abilene Regional Medical Center. He looks for specifics and routes information as he gathers data from around the hospital for communication between departments or storage, including the use of computer programs such as SoftMed and STAR. A TSTC diploma symbolizes respectability in the health and medical career field, Martinez said.
“The TSTC faculty provided unmatched motivation, support and a sense of friendship that I will never forget. Students just do not get that attention everywhere,” he said.
