Timing worked out for software architect
A combination of timing, location and opportunities propelled Robb McMahan from a Webmaster position toward a transformation into an iPhone software architect for AgileX in Washington, D.C.
The Webmaster job in Shreveport, La., put him close to TSTC, but he chose TSTC for more than convenience. “I was impressed with the college’s rankings in the software field,” he explained.
“Software Engineering was the core ingredient of learning software development and it helped me learn other languages including iPhone Objective C,” McMahan added. “My education had a direct impact on my success.”
He praised instructors Phyllis Hollingshead and Gregg McDaniel for answering questions and putting in extra time to assist him. He plans to receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Software Engineering Technology in December 2010.
“With technology you never know what is coming up ahead,” he concluded, “but no matter which way the tech road turns I will feel prepared because of the foundation I received by attending TSTC.”
