Flexible options pointed to TSTC

The key to a business career for Shayla Yoes turned out to be an Associate of Applied Science degree in Software & Business Accounting from TSTC West Texas in 2007.

“I needed to go back to college and finish; I started looking into options and colleges that would fit into my busy life with work and family,” she recalled. “I realized that TSTC was right for me because I wanted an environment where I was not ‘just another student.’”

One of Yoes’s first accounting courses proved to be a challenge after a few weeks, and it made her doubt whether she could enter business administration. But, she remained determined to learn. She praised instructors Donna Hill and Judy Toliver for helping her to develop life skills for success.

“These instructors always saw the best in me and encouraged me,” she said. “Because of their guidance and encouragement, I have become a successful office manager for 5L Oil & Gas Properties in Breckenridge.”
