TSTC made career change possible
Eric Leveling held an associate’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in other academic fields before he enrolled in Wind Energy & Turbine Technology to take a totally new direction as a technician for General Electric in Sweetwater.
“I am very proud to be working for GE; I love climbing turbines and working on them,” he said. “I feel that my education at TSTC has been a great asset and it made my learning curve much shorter.”
Leveling entered the Wind Energy program, however, with no experience in electrical or mechanical technology. He said that the Principles of Electricity and AC and DC Circuits courses were the two most difficult classes he had at TSTC, but they were the most rewarding. “The knowledge that I gained allowed me to better understand the other classes such as Industrial Automation that were based on electrical concepts and components.”
He thanked Director of Development Terry Blankenship for assisting students with information about scholarships and job opportunities.
