Students may earn credit for academic courses through testing.
These are classes offered by high schools. At the end of the class students take the AP or IB examination. If the scores show satisfactory achievement for a subject then credit for the course is awarded by the college.
CLEP examinations are offered through the college's Testing Center. To earn CLEP credit, students take a national exam that tests knowledge in a particular area. If a score shows satisfactory achievement for a subject then credit for the course is awarded by the college.
In addition to test scores, TSTC offers academic credit for military service and schooling based upon DANTES certification.
TSTC requires direct certification of AP, IB, CLEP, and DANTES transcripts and does not accept certification of these tests and programs from other colleges or universities.
