Hands-on ApproachAs a graduate of the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology program, you'll understand that an efficient system starts with a professional installation and continues with regular, precise service and maintenance. When our graduates enter the workforce, they know all the stages of a system, starting with design, and ending with system performance. The program strives to teach you the basic fundamentals of air conditioning and refrigeration while exposing you to the newest technology found in the air conditioning industry. Our training includes the use of a variety of testing equipment, including duct pressure leak testing and balancing, thermal imaging meters, energy logging equipment and infrared temperature measurements. FacultyOur instructors have extensive experience in the air conditioning industry. They remain up-to-date with industry certifications, and work closely with the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Advisory Committee to stay abrest of current industry needs. Their field experience provide you with an invaluable insight for practical solutions to real-world problems. FacilitiesThe TSTC West Texas Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology program is the only curriculum in Texas featuring a state-of-the-art Air Handling/Energy Management training system. This trainer introduces you to the principles and concepts of air handling/energy management while developing an appreciation for the methods used to control air and energy. The unit includes fresh air, return air, and exhaust air ducts, while utilizing a variable-speed blower and mixing dampers to control air flow. This new trainer is just one of many hands-on opportunities you'll experience in our facilities.
