Emergency Medical Technician - Certificate I - EMT Basic
Formal training and certification is required to become an EMT-Basic. If you are interested in making a difference in people’s lives and providing emergency medical care, becoming an EMT-Basic may be could satisfy that desire. EMT-Basic is the entry level position into the EMS profession. You can complete the EMT-Basic program in only two semesters. After completing our program requirements and passing the certification test with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, you will obtain the Texas Certification as an EMT-B. The TSTC West Texas EMT-Basic pathway provides certification level patient care in the field.
All general education courses are intended for transfer. Technical courses are designed for workforce education and their transferability is up to the receiving institution.
