What the Future Holds

The employment outlook for Emergency Medical Technicians is very bright. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Employment of emergency medical technicians and paramedics is expected to grow 9 percent between 2008 and 2018. In fact, jobs in the health care industry will be in demand to cover the needs of America’s increasingly aging population. As an EMT you will not be working in a typical healthcare setting. You will be on the move, responding to multiple emergency and non-emergency scenarios requiring a range of various EMT/Paramedic skills.

One hundred precent of the recent graduates from the TSTC West Texas Emergency Medical Technology program have either been placed in jobs or continued their education at a four-year university. With your degree from TSTC, you will be prepared to serve as a first responder to accidents and emergency situations that require medical attention. You will be an expert in administering medical procedures to treat victims at the scene and while in transport to the hospital.

  • Average Projected Growth: 33% (2010-2012)
