The Environmental Science Technology (ENV) program develops practical skills for the applied science fields of Geology, Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The ENV program promotes student research and the use of applicable laws and regulations, as well as performing research and tests in all aspects of Environmental Science Technology. Graduates can work in a variety of industries: safety and health, water treatment plants, hazardous waste facilities, environmental research facilities, and in geographical information. Job titles for positions within these areas would include: Compliance Officer, Operations Manager, Sampling Technician, Health and Safety Trainer and Water Distribution Supervisor.
The Certificate of Completion II is offered to those individuals that only desire to obtain the necessary technical training for a job in the Environmental Science field. The certificate program includes the same technical courses as the Associates Degree without the fifteen hours of General Education course requirements. This certificate program takes only three semesters to complete, and includes two five-day field trips, one to the Gulf Coast, and the other to Big Bend State Park.
