Examples of Aid Disbursements

All examples assume that your financial aid file and loan requirements were completed before the 1st day of the term.

7 1/2 Week Block Course Schedules

1st  block  – 7.5 Weeks, Classes A & B
2nd block  – 7.5 Weeks, Classes C & D
Class E WILL BE A FULL TERM COURSE - 15 Weeks

7.5 Weeks
Census date:  6th Class Day
Class A & B Class C & D
Class E 15 Weeks

1st 7.5 weeks Class A+B (+E if applicable) must equal 6 credit hours for students to get loans:

  • Full loan amounts (for those that have completed all loan requirements, 1st time borrowers must wait 30 days) will post for all students that have shown for classes as documented by Show/No Show reporting prior to census dates. **
  •
  • Other aid amounts and 50% of Pell will post for all students that have shown for classes as documented by Show/No Show reporting prior to census dates. **

Note: With the reduced amount of Pell, full loan amounts and the full amount of tuition & fees and books being posted, returning students will have a smaller initial refund than what they are accustomed.  But, they will be receiving another refund for the remaining 7.5 week block.

  • 2nd 7.5 weeks (if class C is 3 credit hours) – additional 25% of Pell as documented by Show/No Show reporting prior to census dates. **

(If class C+D is 6 credit hours) – Additional 50% of Pell as documented by Show/No Show reporting prior to census dates. **

**Census dates:
7.5 week block course - 6th Class Day
15 week term course - 11th Class Day

Note:  Aid will not post until a student has been reported as a "SHOW", thus the importance of entering SH/NS beginning the FIRST day of class.  After that, only a student previously marked as no show would require re-entry if they show prior to census date for that class.  Financial Aid will not transmit for any SH/NS posted after the census date of any particular course.

Regular 15 week term for all classes will have aid (except loans for new students) credited to their student account before the census date.  Loans for new students will be disbursed after the 30th day and credited to student accounts within the next 5 business days.

If attending only 1 term of an academic year, federal regulations require that your loan(s) be disbursed in at least 2 separate disbursements.  If it is your last term, the 1st disbursement will be during the regular first disbursement period and your 2nd disbursement will be near mid-term.  If it is your 1st term, your 1st disbursement will be after the 30th day and the 2nd disbursement near mid-term.
