Types of Financial Aid

Federal Pell Grant

Students must annually complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for the Federal Pell Grant Program. The Federal Pell Grant money awarded does not have to be paid back.

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

FSEOG awards are given to Federal Pell Grant recipients who have exceptional financial need. FSEOG funds are very limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

 

Federal Direct Student Loans

Students must annually complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for student loans. Students must also, be enrolled in and attend a minimum of 6 credit hours each term and complete all loan requirements before actually receiving any of the loans estimated on the award notification letter.

Parent Loans

Parents can borrow a PLUS Loan to help pay your education expenses if you are a dependent undergraduate student enrolled at least half time in an eligible program at an eligible school. PLUS Loans are available through the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program.

Scholarships

Scholarship awards do not have to be paid back and help ease some of the finanical expense for college. As with all financial aid, funding is limited and all students that qualify may not receive an award due to a lack of funding. It is essential that you apply early to increase your chances of receiving a scholarship.

TSTC West Texas participates in the following State Aid Programs. As with all financial aid, funding is limited and all students that qualify may not receive an award due to a lack of funding. It is essential that you apply early to increase your chances of receiving one of these awards.
