Graduates of the Health Information Technology Program here at TSTC West Texas have exactly those opportunities. In the Health Information Technology program, you'll learn how to code, analyze, and protect medical information. Doctors and other health care professionals need accurate records to treat their patients, making this field vital to good medical care.

Industry Certification

The TSTC West Texas Health Information Technology program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM) in cooperation with the American Health Information Management Association's Council on Accreditation. That means that when you graduate with an associate's degree, you can take the national Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) exam. Passing the exam improves your career possibilities and increases your salary potential.

Health Information Technology offers careers for the twenty-first century. By combining knowlege of anatomy and physiology with computer skills, you will be able to communicate information accurately to health care professionals.
