Health Information Technology- Associate Degree
The associates degree in Health Information Technology contains all the technical coursework required to enter the health information field, but your education is rounded out with twelve hours of General Education. In as little as five semesters you can train for a position in any organization that uses patient information. Job titles include: Medical Coder, Coding Consultant or Analyst, Medical Record Analyst or Auditor, Medical Record Abstractor, DRG Coordinator, Cancer Registrar, Clinical Documentation Specialist or Health Information Department Director.
All general education courses are intended for transfer. Technical courses are designed for workforce education and their transferability is up to the receiving institution.
