Graduation Honors and GPA
Graduation Honors and Grade Point Averages for Associate Degrees and Certificates of Completion.
Graduation is held before final grades for the current term are verified. Candidates are allowed to participate in the ceremony and wear the designated TSTC regalia and honors awards.
Your GPA for graduation is based on the previous term's CUM GPA, which also determines your status as an honors recipient. For example, if you are graduating in Fall 2013, the Summer 2013 verified GPA is used to determine your status, and what will be denoted on the commencement program.
Candidates for graduation must have a cum GPA of 2.000 to participate.
With Honors candidates (gold honor cord) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.500 to 3.999.
Board of Regents candidates (gold medallion) must have a cumulative GPA of 4.000 every term.
If your status changes upon certification of your final grades, the appropriate award will be denoted on your official transcript and mailed to you along with your diploma.
