An associate's degree in biology can normally be completed within two years. This is a good degree path to take if you are interested in biology, but don't yet know if you want to work toward a bachelor's degree in biology, take the medical school path, or do something entirely different. If you decide not to go beyond the associate degree in biology, there are many interesting and exciting positions for which you would be qualified after earning your degree. You might find a position as a lab technician working under the supervision of a biologist or a veterinarian, or as a salesperson for scientific or medical equipment. This degree could also serve as an introduction to a medical field, such as medical assisting.
