(ABILENE, Texas) – Texas State Technical College’s West Texas campuses will open their doors after hours for Discovery Night, a new initiative designed to showcase the college’s offerings to prospective non-traditional students.

Discovery Night begins in Brownwood on Monday, March 2. The series continues at the Breckenridge campus on Thursday, March 5, followed by Sweetwater on Tuesday, March 10, and Abilene on Wednesday, April 1. Each event will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“We are hosting Discovery Night to focus on non-traditional students who may be looking for a second career, or for parents of traditional students who would like to join their child on a tour,” said Matthew Fraley-Nowacek, senior manager of campus enrollment for the West Texas campuses.

Modeled after TSTC’s Discovery Day, which focuses on high school students, the evening events will feature facility tours, hands-on activities and information about the college’s programs. Representatives from TSTC’s online programs will also be in attendance.

“We wanted to try to do something during non-traditional work hours to showcase the TSTC way,” Fraley-Nowacek said. “We want to give prospective students the time and opportunity to explore what we have to offer.”

While Discovery Day events are traditionally held only in Abilene and Sweetwater, Fraley-Nowacek noted that the enrollment team wanted to ensure every campus had a place on the calendar.
