(HUTTO, Texas) — Texas State Technical College, the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team and Arm partnered Wednesday, Oct. 10, for a STEM event designed to inspire students about the future of technology.
About 100 students gathered at the East Williamson County Higher Education Center for the “Drive the Future” event, where they tackled engineering challenges, attended a panel discussion and networked with industry leaders.

“The idea behind TSTC hosting this ‘Drive the Future’ event was to show the exciting things that we’re doing with Arm,” said Kori Bowen, TSTC vice president of industry relations. “One of them is tying their relationship with businesses, like Aston Martin, with exciting elements of what our culture appreciates, like F1.”
Aston Martin displayed an F1 car on campus ahead of the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas, which is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 25.

Roger Bados, a senior at Austin Achieve Public Schools, said his biggest takeaway was learning to make the most of every moment.
“Opportunities will come at you, and you should always take advantage of them, especially if you feel like you aren’t ready,” Bados said. “It’s not about feeling ready; it’s about the opportunity to learn and improving your career or reaching that final end goal.”
Students asked questions and built professional connections throughout the day. British Consul General in Houston Richard Shackleton also attended.
“It’s great to work together with Texas State Technical College on STEM education and really showing the excitement that’s in this area and looking forward to the future,” Shackleton said.
