Program Eligibility

To qualify for CAMP, you must:

  • Meet TSTC college admission requirements
  • Enroll in an associate degree program
  • Be a U.S. citizen/permanent resident
  • Be eligible for a Pell Grant
  • Have freshman status/be enrolled full time

You or an immediate family member must have worked within the last 24 months for at least 75 days as a migrant or seasonal farmworker or you had participation in and eligibility for the Title 1C Migrant Education Program.

Qualification (Documentation):

  • Submit a CAMP Application
  • Submit two letters of recommendation
  • Submit a Certificate of Eligibility (COE)

Registration & Services

You can schedule one test at a time to make sure you feel prepared every time. Testing is available at our Harlingen and Waco locations. Barriers and strategic protocols ensure student safety.

CAMP Registration

College Assistance Migrant Program Applications are available through the CAMP office. Persons interested in applying for CAMP may contact the CAMP office at 956-364-4033.

Services

CAMP is designed to serve first-year college students who come from migrant/seasonal farmworker backgrounds. Through intensive academic services, personal guidance and financial assistance, CAMP helps students transition from high school to college and develop the skills necessary to succeed at TSTC.

  • Tutoring and academic skill-building instruction and assistance
    • Assist with personalized tutoring schedules
    • Individual or group college-life sessions
    • Skill building trainings
  • Cultural enrichment
    • Exposure to cultural events, academic programs, and other activities not usually available to migrant students.
  • Career planning
  • Academic advising
  • Financial assistance that includes, but is not limited to, the following:
    • Stipends
    • Scholarships
    • Books and supplies
    • Tuition and fees
    • Housing (Dorms)
  • Support services
    • Other essential supportive services as necessary to ensure the success of eligible students.
