East Williamson County state Rep. Caroline Harris visit

(HUTTO, Texas) – Texas State Technical College’s East Williamson County campus hosted state Rep. Caroline Harris, R-Round Rock, for a tour on Thursday, Feb. 15.

“I love what TSTC stands for,” Harris said. “It means that we are giving our young people, our high school students and our other students a chance to engage in trades and have amazing jobs in trades.”

Harris visited several of TSTC’s programs, including Cybersecurity and Industrial Systems.

“The visit of state Rep. Caroline Harris underscores the crucial relationship between TSTC and the state Legislature, highlighting the mutual commitment to educational funding and showcasing the opportunities that are available to TSTC students firsthand,” said Lance Antilley, an instructor in the Industrial Systems program.

Harris had visited the East Williamson County Higher Education Center for events in the past, but this was the first time she had toured TSTC’s programs at the East Williamson County campus, which is located there. She visited TSTC’s Waco campus last fall.

“TSTC is proud to host Rep. Harris showing her support of higher education and state-of-the-art training as the pathway from education to employment in Williamson County and Texas,” said Kelly Coke, provost of TSTC’s East Williamson County campus.

Harris represents House District 52, which encompasses a portion of Williamson County.

The tour was coordinated by TSTC’s Government Relations department.
