(HARLINGEN, Texas) – Texas State Technical College’s Harlingen campus has hired two instructors for the Diesel Equipment Technology program set to begin this fall.

Asdrubal Gonzalez and Juan Pena bring a combined 43 years of hands-on experience to the program. Their arrival marks a new chapter in delivering top-tier technical education.

Gonzalez said he wants to build support with the students and set expectations for what they will be learning.

“I’m ready to teach our students the basics and different scenarios that will develop their mind to think differently,” he said.

Pena said being a new instructor in the program brings an exciting challenge.

“I found myself helping younger technicians in past jobs,” he said. “This was a perfect opportunity to bring my knowledge and help shape students’ minds to think strategically.”
