(MARSHALL, Texas) – Texas State Technical College’s Marshall location has employed many hardworking mothers over the years. Several of them have children who have chosen to continue their legacies.

Campus enrollment executive Michelle Atkinson said she always knew that her son Isaiah Lozano was tech savvy. Already familiar with chemical plants thanks to his father’s career, Lozano plans to attend TSTC’s Process Operations program in the fall.

“I knew from a young age he wasn’t a university kid, and that’s OK,” Atkinson said. “I believe in everything we do here, and I think this is going to be a great option for him.”

Senior enrollment coach Charla Foster’s daughter, Savannah, will also attend the Marshall location’s Process Operations program in the fall. She has been attending Texas Early College High School for the past two years, and her talents in math and science make the program a perfect fit.

“I think it’s a good transition into the real world, and I’m excited for her,” Charla Foster said.

TSTC customer service specialist Tametra Haggerty did not find the Marshall location until after her daughter J’netria McCray enrolled at the college. Both are now graduates of TSTC’s Business Management Technology program.

“She was happy here at TSTC,” Haggerty said. “That’s what made me decide to enroll here.”

McCray now works for a lawyer’s office in Arlington and plans to return to school to become a paralegal. Haggerty’s younger daughter, Ieshia, has also joined the Business Management Technology program to help her run her own nail salon in the future.

Registration for TSTC’s fall semester is currently underway. For more information, go to tstc.edu.
