Health care is a growth industry
As a nurse, you will meet the health care needs of individuals, families, and communities. You will also work collaboratively with other members of the health care team, and have a positive impact on both the patient and the health care system. The nursing profession is a large part of the high-demand health care field. It’s the largest health care profession and one that is highly respected.
TSTC offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Nursing (ADN). This is a fast-paced transition program for current LVN licensees which will lead to an AAS degree in Nursing in a short 12 months and the ability to take the National Council Licensure Examination which will classify you as a Registered Nurse (RN). Clinicals will prepare students with the basic competencies to become safe practitioners in the health care field. As a registered nurse you can work in hospitals, day-surgery centers, rehabilitation centers, physicians’ offices, home health care agencies, among other areas.
TSTC also offers a certification in Vocational Nursing. Upon completion of this program and passing the National Council Licensure Examination, you will be classified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). In the Vocational Nursing program, students participate in an innovative hands-on training environment that helps develop their caregiving skills. Instruction consists of classroom, simulation learning labs, interactive online sessions, virtual clinicals, and on-site health care clinicals. Whichever you choose, a nursing career is rewarding and awaiting you.
