Program Details

The Surgical Technology program is designed to prepare entry-level Surgical Technologists who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.

You will receive hands-on instruction and supervised clinical experience while taking courses in anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. You’ll also increase your pharmacology, medical terminology, and psychology knowledge to prepare you to provide excellent patient care. Our program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and combines classroom instruction with experiential learning in a hospital.

In Harlingen, surgical technology is available through a hybrid format using online learning for didactic delivery and face-to-face lab training in skills and high-fidelity simulation. You will obtain hands-on experience during clinical instruction in a hospital setting.
